These are the people that have had experience with underage drinking, and are old enough to know how to make resposible decisions. They may believe that other people who are over 21 are not responsible if they think that it is ok for teenagers to consume alcohol. This is an example of that.

"I am 22 years old and can tell you that many of my peers’ parents and extended families are not people I would trust an adolescent with in terms of monitoring their alcohol consumption. Many so-called responsible adults not only provide alcohol to their underage children and their friends but also encourage excessive consumption and help create an environment that places others at risk, regardless of the age of the drinker.

Furthermore, many of my peers’ parents are also very clearly dependent on/abusive of alcohol, so why is it that by virtue of being adults they are automatically qualified to host a booze-filled party when many of them struggle with their own relationship to alcohol?

Finally, I do not feel it is safe or logical to expect a parent to know when their underage guest has had “enough” to drink. This is an amount that varies enormously. For some, especially teens with little or no prior experience drinking or who have a sensitivity to alcohol, one or two servings may induce a strong physiological reaction and impairment."
